The Woodlands Inn is likely very different from traditional assisted living or memory support care centers you may be used to. Located in North Andover, Massachusetts and designed with details that resemble a charming New England inn, each of our four state-of-the-art, specialized assisted living and memory support homes accommodates just ten resident members, creating an intimate, family-style atmosphere and opportunities for personal connection.

Daily life centers around a central hearth area where members can gather to engage in conversation, watch a movie, participate in a variety of engaging programs, or simply enjoy the warmth of the fire on a chilly day. The open kitchen and dining area is also a center of activity where residents can gather for meals, or even help with preparation if they choose. Large windows bathe the space in natural light and provide views of each home’s gardens and the beautiful surrounding woodlands.

Personal preferences, community connections.

A hallmark of assisted living and memory support at The Woodlands Inn is the emphasis we place on catering to resident members’ personal preferences. Residents set the rhythm of their days, choosing when to sleep and wake, when to eat, and what activities they enjoy. Innkeepers work to accommodate their preferences and design programs according to resident interests. For privacy and comfort, each member enjoys his or her own master suite and master bathroom. These private living quarters are arranged around the central hearth area to provide easy access to amenities and foster a sense of community within the home.

Residents will always find plenty of things to do and ways to engage in the social life of the community. They’ll have opportunities to gather with friends for cookouts in the courtyard, share in birthday and holiday celebrations, participate in lifelong learning programs, and enjoy the always popular weekly “mocktail” happy hour in the Great Room.

What’s an Innkeeper?

Consistent, highly trained teams of Innkeepers are a central feature of the small-home model at The Woodlands Inn. As a steady and reliable presence in members’ lives, Innkeepers serve a variety of roles within the home. They’re friends who get to know each resident member, learning about their histories and families, as well as their routines and preferences. They’re the helping hands who provide personal care and assistance. They’re leaders who are empowered to serve members’ needs in the best way possible. They’re organizers who plan routines, social events, and recreational opportunities to match members’ interests and build a sense of family within the home. And they’re encouragers who empower members to embrace their highest potential for independence.

Resident members and their families can rest easy knowing that their consistent team of Innkeepers and support staff are taking care of the home 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In addition, a licensed nurse provides oversight and assistance eight hours a day.
